Information we use

You can browse the map without an account. When you sign in, we store your email address, profile name, account settings, and a secure session. Email-code sign-in stores a short-lived code verifier and rate-limit data. If you use Google, we verify a Google identity token and store the stable Google account identifier, verified email address, and name needed to link your MoMonuments account. We do not receive your Google password, Gmail messages, or Google Drive files.

Projects you choose to save can include a title, notes, map extent, layer settings, imported feature names and geometry, and OPUS control details or an imported solution XML. Imported files are first read in your browser. Saved project data is associated with your account.

How we use it

We use these details to sign you in, maintain your private projects and preferences, show research results, and send account messages. A first verified sign-in triggers a MoMonuments welcome email. An email sign-in code is sent when requested. Product updates are optional and require the separate checkbox on the email sign-in form; Google sign-in does not opt you into product updates.

Our analytics records limited workflow events, such as the type of search or export and a result count. The application does not place project names, uploaded file names, email addresses, or spatial coordinates in those events. Our hosting provider may process routine technical requests needed to operate and protect the service.

Services and links

We use Google Identity Services for optional Google sign-in, Resend to deliver account email, and Google Tag Manager for analytics. Map tiles and public records come from attributed third-party map and government services. Opening an official document or another external link takes you to that provider, which has its own policies. See Sources & method for the research data providers.

Your choices

You can use email-code sign-in instead of Google, leave product updates unchecked, edit your account settings, export account and saved-map metadata from Account settings, download saved project geometry, and delete individual projects. For an account data or deletion request, use the form below. We will verify account ownership before acting on a request that changes or discloses private data.

Contact about privacy

Send a question or an account data request to the MoMonuments site owner. This form goes into a private administrator queue; do not include passwords, sign-in codes, or sensitive survey files.
